At a Wedding

I recently attended a wedding and thought that I’d share what I wore there.

Since I am not native to American culture, I did do some research on what to wear to a wedding before I went, and here is what I found: basically, we should look decent but not too eye catching, because it is the bride’s day and she should be the center of attention. So when it comes to dressing ourselves, we should avoid pure white dress, and dresses that are overly bright in color and sexy in design:). Black dress used to be a “No’ item, but nowadays people are totally fine with it.

While I have many black dresses, I picked this dark blue Ochirly dress that my cousin bought me a couple years ago. Its modest color and girly cut makes it a perfect choice for a casual garden wedding.

Leopard Heart

It has been very busy two weeks for me and I am behind my schedule for the first time since I started blogging.  We have been so lucky to have an extended summer until this week.

I generally don't consider myself the kind of girl for animal prints, but the soft and silky touch of this dress and the baby doll design persuaded my heart.

This pretty looking jacket is a new experiment with online shopping. I would like to always try on a clothing before I buy so I debated a lot before placing the order. Fortunately it looks very much as I liked after careflly ironing out the wrinkles on it caused by long-distance shipping.

Ruffle My Heart

By now you can probably tell that I am a girly girl, I love floral patterns, ruffles, and pretty heels that I can handle.  I still remember how thrilled I was when I discovered this ruffled top with asymmetric shoulders a few years ago. Although it was the first time I wore it this year (and feel guilty about it), I really feel it is a piece of gem that can brighten up my day:)

Simply Summer

Summer in Minnesota is short, but very comfortable; we only barely got above 90 degrees for maybe one day this year. I seek every opportunity to wear a dress, either when going out on a date with hubby, or just going for a short walk on a weekend evening. For the latter situation, I opt for cotton dresses that are simple and casual, which make me feel summer, and feel girly:)

Fly With the Red Wing

After 7 years, I finally visited this small ancient town less than one hour drive away, and can’t figure out how it escaped from my tour list for so many years. This town was filled with huge flower baskets, ancient and colorful buildings, and romantic couples who were sitting by the riverside and waiting to get one their weekend getaway cruise.

The last time I wore this dress was 6 years ago when I attended a colleges’ wedding. It felt just right to wear it again since I sensed the same romance and love flowing in the air…

Short and Sweet

The labor day long weekend was short and already over. Although it was very nice and sweet, I almost felt that I needed another weekend to recover from it:) Instead of going out and shooting a full set of blog photos, we tried some indoor shooting at home, very different and very fun!

ADDICTION

I have been totally addicted, ever since I did my first biking trip in Lanesboro 6 years ago. It is a neat little tourist town, with endless fun to offer and long shady trails to walk or bike. My hubby (my boyfriend back then) and I were so excited to try out a tandem bike from the rental shop, which I only saw in movies before. We enjoyed it so much that we have been sticking to the same type every year we go back whenever it is available.

This time was the only time we had to ride our own separate bikes. Although the trail remains beautiful as usual (and the bike color actually matched my outfit!), I really miss teaming up and pedaling in the same pace with him. Fortunately, we are always a good team and in the same pace in life:)
