I love maxi skirt—I reach for it on casual days when I don’t feel like dressing up but still want to look chic in an effortless way. I often pair it with a loose cropped top to achieve the relaxed look. Here are some photos taken when I was strolling on the street last weekend. Hope you enjoy them and find a spot in your closet for maxi if you haven’t already:)

When Stripes Meet Dots
Summer means beach to many lucky people. Although I don’t live very close to one, I try to get close to water at least a couple times during this hot season. While I have had fun times canoeing and kayaking, I have never been on a sail boat before, so when I heard about the fundraising event of “Sail for Leukemia”, I was thrilled!
Imaging myself being a sailor, I went with a stripped crop top, and to make the look even more playful, I added my beloved mini skirt with dots. This is probably the first time I wear two printed pieces together, and I loved how it turned out!

Flow with Roses
I love summer--the sky is still so bright after work. Since my hubby and I met in summer time, our home is often filled with roses during this season of the year:)
This floral skirt from Loft is definitely one of my staple pieces for work. It has beautiful summer pattern and great bell shape, and is made so soft that it flows perfectly when I walk in it. When I wear it, I immediately feel like a real lady! It has been with me for many years and I love it as if I just bought it!

When Things Are Black and White
People often say, every woman’s closet must have “a little
black dress” and “a little white dress”.
If we try harder, we find ourselves often have something that is black
and white. This combination is simple and chic and hardly go out of style. It
is interesting how many different messages can be delivered by different patterns
created by only two colors.
The nude ankle strap sandals are really a big hit this
summer, I saw slightly different versions by different brands. But this BCBG pair with block heels is just
perfect for me—I can actually walk on them for more than a couple of hours
without feeling hurt. I felt so lucky to find them in time for the summer! :)

Fuchsia Peplum
I love summer not only because we really don’t get much of it here in MN, but also that summer is full of colors, and it even feels OK to bring bright colors to our relatively conservative work place. I actually bought this peplum top from New York Company over two years ago when peplum just started to become popular, and I am glad it stayed in this season.
This pencil skirt from Banana republic is not only professionally-looking, but also very soft and comfortable, I wear it almost all year around, just with different tops.
I am so excited to show off my arm candies, which I recently purchased from Fossil. They are not only with pretty looks, nice quality, but also made so easy to wear--I am sure girls as clumsy as I can do it ourselves in a second, without assistance from the hubbies:)

The Denim Maxi
I got this Max Studio denim skirt quite a few years ago, and since then it has stayed one of the staple pieces of my wardrobe. It can create either casual or dressed-up looks. I like to pair it with this men's belt to give it a slightly tough look, also create contrasts with the intended feminine design.
These photos were taken when we went out for a good morning coffee last Sunday. The cream colored brick wall of the church makes a nice and interesting background and leads the imagination to the earlier times.
