If you ever wonder what it feels like to visit the zoo in Florida in summer time, I think I have the answer. Although the gardens still looked beautiful, most animals were super sleepy on that muggy day.
The highlight of the day was the moment when the herd of giraffes came into view. I always adore them for their colorful fur, elegant posture and big gentle eyes. The young ones cheerfully took treats from visitors' hands, with that satisfied look on their face as if they were the luckiest babies in the world.
We didn't get to have a good look at jaguars or tigers this time. They obviously found some good spots to hide from the scorching sun and noisy crowds. Good for them.
